fleeting shadows
Fleeting Shadow marks Yuichiro Kikuma’s second solo exhibition at Martch Art Project. The showcase unveils a collection of his predominantly monochromatic paintings, which he has created in the recent years in the suburbs of South London where the artist lives.
Kikuma’s current fascination with the intricate forms and lines of roadside plants has culminated in a series of paintings titled Traces of the Summer. Through these works, he presents cyanotype-like silhouettes of untamed flora, unveiling the vibrant yet tranquil pulse that underlies their existence.
Inspired by this botanical exploration is an ongoing series of geometric compositions that Kikuma has been developing. These pieces further explores simple elements of lines and tones that compose his visual language.
